I think because of that, I think people started to see that the live-event – there’s something magical about our business live when you’re watching it happen, and the crowd is such a big component. How did that show start to transform the business as a whole? It hadn’t morphed yet, but it was a game-changer for me in the excitement level. It’s funny because you can look at those shows and… it almost felt like, in some way, a little bit of the start of an ‘Attitude’ kind of feel within the vibe of it, yet you still had the Doink The Clowns and all the other things. had a completely different vibe, it was like being at the live event, and the environment of it at the Manhattan Center was so much more intimate and the crowd was so hot. It was just kind of announcers going to matches and then going to interviews and going back to matches. ‘Uncut, Uncooked, Uncensored.’ It was.Įverything in the business at that point in time was sort of these packaged, pre-taped shows, whether that was WCW or WWE. It was what the name said, it was raw, right? What was the tagline of Raw? …. Triple H: I felt like the first time I saw Raw, I watched that first episode and I felt like it was a game-changer. What was your perception of Raw at that time? WWE aired the first episode of Raw exactly 25 years ago on January 11th, 1993, and even though he wasn’t with the company at the time, current WWE Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative Triple H immediately knew that the switch to live television would have massive ramifications for professional wrestling. ![]()
